A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

how serious is he?

Im 18 and so is he, - we have been going out for 5 months now. before we started dating i left a relationship where i was cheated on and im contantly worried it will happen again, i guess im scarred. im pretty certain he wont cheat cos he always tells me how much he loves me, but then so did the other one and look what happened.

he is dreadfully hard to read, and i need to know through other peoples experiences whether the things he says means he is serious.

i said the other day "i cant wait to teach my kids to drive" and he automatically said "your not teaching our kids to drive your rubbish at it!" and laughed, and then i was talking about working in new york and he said "you know id go with you".

we have talked about what our wedding would be like, with ease and he has told me becuase of his working back ground (he isnt a student) he told me is ready to settle down and is looking for a place to live.

im so in love with him and i want the same thing, but i have only ever had these 2 boyfriends. i still feel like we are on the honeymoon phase... has anyone else felt like this?

anon_e_mouse agony auntAll the things he's saying are good things. He doesnt mean anything bad by it (unless he's being sarchastic of course).

I was just like your boyfriend with my girlfriend - and always loving, caring and reassuring - I loved her (still do). She was cheated on by 2 previous boyfriends. In the end, after 15 months, I had to finish it.

She thought "ALL MEN ARE THE SAME" and it all got too much. EVRYONE DIFFERENT - NOT all men are the same any more than all women are the same.

She had so many issues with jealousy and possessiveness it nearly drove me mental! Don't worry about it... Everything he's saying is good!

"said the other day "i cant wait to teach my kids to drive" and he automatically said 'your not teaching our kids to drive your rubbish at it!' and laughed"

Repeat: "your not teaching OUR kids to drive"

"i was talking about working in new york and he said you know id go with you"

Repeat: "you know id go WITH you"

"we have talked about what our wedding would be like"

Repeat: "OUR wedding"

Sounds like you got a nice guy there so just enjoy each other and don't be afraid.

MEN AREN'T ALL THE SAME AND IT WOULD BE SUCH A SHAME IF YOU WERE TO LOSE EACH OTHER BECAUSE YOU HAD THE MISFORTUNE TO GO OUT WITH A TOTAL IDIOT BEFORE YOUR CURRENT BOYFRIEND.
