How can I tell him his girlfriend doesn't treat him right?

A female United States age 26-29, anonymous writes:

How can I tell my best guy friend that his girlfriend isn't treating him right without him getting mad?

She flirts with any guy with a pulse and even leads on another guy telling him how her relationship won't last much longer and that she really likes this other guy.

She's also obsessive and one time she went through his gym bag to get his phone, which was wrapped in his boxers, just so she could read his texts. And she yells at him for every little thing she doesn't like that he does.

I'm really pissed that he doesn't just dump her because he's so nice and I love him like a brother but I can't tell him straight out cuz i'm scared he'll be mad so what do i do?

I think the only thing you can do is be there for him to pick up the pieces when it all goes pearshaped.

He obviously knows what she is like if she yells at him for every little thing that he does that she doesn't like. Unfortunately love is blind... and hopefully there will come a day when he has had enough and can't take anymore. However, some men appear to like women that are rather high maintenance, perhaps he likes her this way.

I suggest you stay out of it the best you can, otherwise you may be seen as the baddy ....just support him when he needs to let off steam. I know it is hard when you care about someone to see them treated in such a way, but sometimes we have to bite our lip and stand back.
