How can I stop freezing up when I meet a girl I like?

Question - (10 December 2012) 1 Answers - (Newest, 10 December 2012)
A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hello,

I have always had trouble going for the wrong girls because i have always been to shy to talk to the ones i actually like. I hope not to sound conceited here but i know i am not bad looking, in fact i get a lot of compliments on the way i look. But when i see a girl i like i just freeze up and am almost always awkward.

So to compensate and avoid humiliation or rejection i would go after the girls i didn't like.

I don't want to have to change who i am, i am just looking for a way to open up to a girl and let her know i care and hope she takes the time to get to know the real me, not the shy and awkward me.

'Just do it'

Yeah you gonna be 'shy' the first but eventually you will be comfortable.

One of the ways (maybe the only way?) to fix the issue is to approach girls you like on constant basis and after some time it won't be as awkward and you 'll be comfortable.
