First, you need to figure out what's really making you so embarrassed... to talk to them. You are probably worrying TOO much about whether they will like you or not. They will either like you, or they won't. If they don't like you... that's their loss... not yours. Believe this one thing... and I'm sure you'll be confident enough to talk/be around them.
If there are particular guys that you like, or want to be around often... figure out what kinds of things they like and then talk to them about those things. You don't even have to know anything about whatever it is... just say something like... I've never really understood all the rules to basketball... perhaps you can teach me. Then, just LISTEN (paying at least some attention of course). You'll find that if you interact with people as a listener - they will like you more - but don't become a wallflower. You have to interact with them as well. Just don't do a majority of the talking.

I myself am 16 and just begun the process of knowing who i am and starting to get more comfortable with myself. I don't wanna put labels over myself ...but i still have along way to go. But anyway to the point, I find myself infatuated with certain guys too. But you just have to calm down and be normal. They're nothing but a human just like you. So take deep breaths and think about you're gonna say next. Good luck
