Just make sure that you're implying the right thing. I've had a girl give me a 'friendship' poem, and had no idea whether she liked me or not, in hindsight it was because I had a crush on her, and was looking for any sign of her liking me, even though looking back she definatly didn't.

Hey,
I'm sure if you treat her as a proper friend she has not doubts that you value your friendship with her. David Lewis is right, unlike boys girl do notice small things, maybe a friendship card is a good idea, or most girl like those Me-to-You bears, why not a small one of those? Just a little something to remind her you care.
Hope this helped,

Telling her face to face is a good way to start. Take her places and make sure she always enjoys herself when she is with you. Girls appreciate the small things, so a small gesture or friendship card will make her very happy. Join her in her hobbies and express an interest in things she enjoys.
