I tried shaving there once. And it really hurt when shaving stubble. I cut myself when shaving upwards and was really painful. A good idea is too leave the hair to grow longer or try a different appoarch like waxing or hair removal cremes? A bad thing is, when shaving it can sometimes become itchy and irratating so make sure you really want to do it. Another thing is just trimming in, it doesnt get rid of the hair but makes it less hassle and shorter without the annoying rash afterwards
Hope that helps.

Hi. May I offer some advice about shaving. I've done it every morning for almost forty years!!!
1) Buy a good quality razor. Doesn't need to have lots of blades in it. In fact for this area of your body, a single blade is probably better.
2) Use a soap/shaving cream. (not sure about what females can use in this area but I'm sure there's a "pink" product just for them in supermarkets/Superdrug/Boots for UK readers).
3) Use hot water - and warm the area that will be shaved for a few minutes beforehand. YummyMummy's suggestion of shaving in the bath is probably a good idea. Do not shave dry. Do not shave with cold water.
4) Only use a razor to shave stubble - do not use a razor to shave long hair - use scissors as YumMum suggests.
5) Keep rinsing the razor after every razor stroke.
6) Initially try shaving in the direction the hair is growing. Then to get the closest shave go back in opposite direction - against the direction of growth.
7) Stretching the skin to make it taut while shaving will make it easier.
8) After you've finished - rinse the razor thoroughly - so it is clean for next time. If it is clogged - alternate rinsing between hot and cold water running water - and tapping it lightly.
9) Finally, shake the razor dry. Do not leave it where it will get wet. Do not leave it where the blade will get knocked or damaged. Store it someone safe and where it is protected.
Hope this helps.

hey!
have you tried using hair removal cream? or waxing?
shaving is more common but less effective if not done with a good razor and cream.
Just remember which ever option you do choose - exfoliate! if not you can get ingrowing hairs which do hurt!
hope this has helped

Hey hun :)
I had this issue when I started shaving and I almost gave up on the whole thing myself.
What kind of razor are you using? Cheap razors are awful for shaving down there. I've cut myself and its been sore when I use cheaper razors. It might be wise if this is the case to invest a bit in a special razor for that area and just use the blades for that. I use a Venus Divine thing. Also cheap shaving foam/cream can be useless and leave you sore.
One thing also I noticed is that if I shaved dry, apart from shaving cream I got sore aswell. I tend to trim the hair down with scissors (if I let it grow out a bit) then sit in the bath and shave there. The warm water softens my skin and I never seem to get sore. Although my mate shaves in the shower and has no issue, I can't.
It does take a while for the skin and stuff to get used to it. Keep it up though. If you let it grow out then your skin gets used to not shaving again.
Also try, when running the razor up your pubic bone to flatten the skin a little. Like stretching it. I didn't do this till after I had a wax a few years ago and they support the skin so it doesn't bruise and stuff.
Hope this helps :)
xxxxxxxx
