And I get sick of it.Secondly, if I do stick to my plan then I end up doing homework etc.. but then don't have time to myself. For example I can only do one thing for some reason, if I sit down to watch telly I watch it for hours, and can't get off. Before I used to do my homework on time etc.. now I'm finding it hard since I've started year 10. I like to spend time with my family, and like help my mum and dad out and sisters and brothers but I just don't get time. How to fit everything in for each day, so homework, revision, Chilling and helping out with stuff i.e chores or ect..stuff.Thanks Reply to this Question Share |

Make a list of things that are critical i.e. what pieces of homework/coursework have to be handed in the soonest. If you can identify the next few pieces of work that have to be handed in the coming days then at least you will have a better idea of what your main priority should be.
Make a plan before you start a piece of homework too - like you would with an essay before you start writing it. identify exactly what needs to be done, and where you will get your marks. That way you will know exactly what you need to do get get good marks in your work!
To be honest around this time of year when you have loads of coursework and revision to do, you wont get any time to yourself, this is just something you have to accept. I used to give myself one night off a week where I did no homework at all, but apart from that every night I would be working on school stuff. You have the summer to relax - that isnt far away now! You need to learn that you cannot do everything and chilling just isnt an option if you want to do well. Try and get all coursework done first and then move on to revision, once the coursework is out of the way you will feel you can focus better on revision. Even if the coursework isnt due for a few weeks, get it finished now so you can move on.
All of this that you are feeling is totally normal and you are just learning to get the balance between work and play, but while you are still at school and then in college/6th form, you just have to get on with it! I worked so hard and put in loads of effort, I was forever crying because I was so stressed but in the end I came out with 3A*'s, 6A's and 4B's at GSCE and then 3 A's at A level.
Working hard pays off - this stress will only help you to do better in your exams. It will be worth it in the end believe me, but for now just accept that you will be feeling like this for quite some time! Keep the summer in the back of your mind as your motivation, maybe make some plans with friends now so you have something to look forwards to. Your parents should also understand if you are not helping them out so much at the moment, they want to see you do well so they wont expect quite as much help at the moment! If they are getting on your back, show them your revision plans and coursework plans - show them how hard you are working and they should go easier on you!
I hope this helps and good luck!

Clear your work area except for the minimal things you need to study. No tv, phone or anything else to distract you. Music is ok if low key and non intrusive.
set yourself an overall time scale of say 2 hrs. divide that up into chunks on 20 minutes and then 10 minutes e.g. 20,10,20,10 and so on. get a clock.
Force yourself to sit and study for the 20 mins. No interruptions solid focus on the work. Once you have been exactly 20 mins - congratulations you can have a 10minute break to go see family, play etc.
once you have completed this 2 hr schedule then go reward yourself by going doing things.
you can vary this - if it works then increase to 25 mins and 10 mins. or if not going well 15 and 10. Again 2 hrs is a starting point maybe less maybe more depending on need.
the important bit is to focus and concentrate - 20 mins is not long you can study for that long. remember turn off phone, computer, messenger etc... no distractions.
i forced this process on my niece when she was revising and she was shocked when added it up she had done 6 solid hours one sunday and it felt like nothing. thats was more than she had done in a month.
hope that helps.
