I know this lad who is my ex's best friend and i've liked him ever since we split up. When I was really upset about the break-up, he always came round to see if I was okay and was there for me as a shoulder to cry on. He used to come round all of the time but he's stopped now and I havent seen him for about two months but I really miss him and I can't help feeling guilty because he is my ex's best friend. How can I make him understand how much I feel for him?

Maybe ask him to come around again? There's no harm in being friends for a while if you miss him. And I know there's the whole don't date ex's rule, but if you like the guy there's no controlling your feelings. Ask him to come around because you know how good of a friend he has been and you miss him... Just be yourself, don't rush things, and whatever happens happens. You never know, he could start liking you as well if you guys start hanging out. There's no harm in being close friends.
