i am 18, i have been on a diet for about 3 months now! i eat under a 1000 calories a day! run about an hour each day and do light weights, sit up etc..(well not eveyday i do miss a few) but i dont seem to have lost any weight!!..i realy would like to be able 2 wear a bikki on holiday this summer but i cant cause i feel to fat!

how can i lose weight its just not working!

for my diet that i'm trying to lose weight is basically, cereal and a fruit for breakfast, egg whites and vegetables for lunch, and for dinner a fruit and vegetables. you should give this a try, i lost almost 15 pounds in the first week by following my diet. also you will need to do at least an hour of exercise each day, no skipping days. most importantly drink water. when i did this every week until i reached my weight loss goal i lost about 4-5 pounds a week. not sure if you would like my routine... message me if you have any questions!

hey,

it all depends on the type of food you eat. I lost 35 pounds just by cutting all the junk food out. this means no pop, no takeout, everything you eat must be healthy and homecooked. It also helps to be a vegetarian. and make sure to drink 8 glasses of water. make sure to not overdo the water drinking, it could kill you. good luck

the other posters are totally right, less than 1000 calories a day isnt enough!! i think the recommended daily intake for women is 2000 and men 2500 (but im not 100% sure). u need to eat more because if u dont eat enough, ur body isnt getting the vital fats and nutrients it needs to be healthy and u can actually put on weight because ur body thinks its being starved so will start store more fat which is later processed (its like an emergency food store). i know u may think that ur not starving urself but doctors and health experts wouldnt recommend for people to eat a certain amount of calories if it wasnt healthy and what the body needs.

so, like everyone has said, keep exercising and eating healthily and reguarly and the weight will gradually drop off. u dont want to loose it too quickly because skin is like elastic and slowly springs back so if u loose it too quickly, ur skin doesnt have chance to do this and thats when people end up with excess skin. yeh i know its a pain in the arse to do it slowly but its for the best in the long run.

if after a while ur still not loosing any noticeable weight, maybe just pop into the doctors and see what they suggest.

eyeswideopen agony auntSometimes your body will put up a pretty good fight against a diet and 3 months is not surprising. Keep at it eventually the pounds will start to fall off. You might step up the exercise a bit maybe that will jump start the weight loss. Good luck, you'll be sporting that bikini before too long.

YummyMummy agony auntI'm the opposite of this issue. I think I'm too skinny. I never ate peoperly through my teens and lost a lot of weight plus all of my curves and my body became very unattractive. Being pregnant I'm obviously putting weight on.

I went to see my doctor just before I feel pregnant to see about what I could change about my diet etc to put weight on. As much as you may be eating under 1000 calories everyday, how much carbs do you eat?

Your doctor will also tell you the ideal weight you should be for your height etc. They may also help you find the right diet for you aswell as there are so many different ones out there!

as for losing weight there are plenty of thing you can do to lose weight. it may not be how much your eating it maybe its what you eating write up a food which will allow you to see what your eating then try and speak to your doctor.

u need to eat more!! less than 1000 calouries is not enought! ur body needs around 2000 to function properly otherwise it thinks its being starved and will start to process that stored fat in ur body causing u to actually gain weight so starving urself wont actually help u to loose weight!! start eating healthily and the recommended calourie intake and keep excerising and the weight will drop off

It's difficult to say exactly what's going wrong, as you didn't mention your current stats, ie. weight and height. To eat under 1000 calories a day and not lose weight in conjunction with the exercise you say you're doing is quite unusual. What food are you eating to make up this 1000 calories? Research foods that have a low GI index. Obviously a low fat diet is useful. The internet has some great diet suggestions, but you need the will-power to follow them through.

More to the point, how often are you thinking about all of this? Do you have anyone close (family member, etc.) that you could ask for their honest opinion?

Hey hunni!

Basically, youre not eating enough, and doing too much exercise. You should focus on tone not actual body weight, and eat at least 1700 calories a day if youre doing that much exercise. Also make sure to drink at least 2 litres of water a day! Thats what Ive been told.

Basically youre eating so little that your body thinks its in starvation and you are going to die, so every little calorie you eat at the moment will be turned into fat and stored. If you eat enough to make your body not think its going to die, then it will be happier to loose weight for you!

I would suggest you go out and buy a diet book that gives you a plan to stick to... I find the less extreme ones work best....

But also, think about why you want to loose weight, and who youre doing it for. I finish my first year uni exams today, and I know that ive put on weight over the last month of revision... and im going on holiday with my bf in about a week and a half... there are some times when making peace with yourself is a lot healthier than starving yourself...

try to find a happy medium hunni, and dont do anything too extreme.

Btw every guy i have talked to about this prefers a girl in a bikini who has curves to fill it, than one who looks lik shes about to starve to death!!
