How can I help him overcome his trust issues?

I recently got back with my ex boyfriend who I love very much. The problem is... I lied to him about me still talking to my ex. I didn't mean it. I just sort of happened because I needed someone to talk to and my boyfriend was always working. The only person I had talked to before I got back with my boyfriend was my ex boyfriend. So I called my ex boyfriend. We ended up talking a few times and my boyfriend became suspicious about who I was talking to. SO I lied to him because I did not want him to start talking to his exes. He found out the truth about the situation right after I told my ex I do not want to talk to him anymore. Now were still together but he has a lot of trust issues. How can I help him get over this?
