writes:How can I get the friendly but shy store clerk to ask me out? I went there yesterday with the intention of flirting with him, but his boss was right there and we didn't have much time to talk. I don't know him very well, but he's a friend of a friend and we've talked on a few separate occasions. Today I saw his friend and he said, "Bill said you came in to the store yesterday." He said the same thing the last time I went there, as well. I didn't think it was such a news flash that I stopped in his store for a few minutes to make a purchase. Is it a sign that he's interested, since he's talking about me with his friend?

 He could be interested, or he may have said you came in the store because you have mutual friends and he just mentioned he say you that day. I agree with the previous posters. If nothing else, flirt a little bit, let him know you are interested. Or you can ask his friend a few questions about Bill and hope he passes it on to him that you were asking questions and seem interested. If he doesnt ask you out and you get impatient, ask him out yourself. You didnt mention being shy. Go for it. Good luck !

 I agree with Collaroy; just ask him out yourself! You could play the 'does he like me or not?' game, but what do you have to lose by just asking him out for coffee or lunch?

 Hi,
good grief, be a little proactive here - go for the jugular. Forget these silly little does he like me or not games - that stuff belongs on the school playground.
First, if you are not to confident, talk to your friend, see if she/he can find out whether he is interested. If your friend lets him know you are interested then chances are much higher he will ask you out.
Or if you are feeling really game, simply ask him out. What have you got to lose, but maybe go the find out from your friend first if he's interested.
