writes: I suffer from cluster headaches. They are like migraines, but they come at the same time everyday and can last up to over a month with me. The best way I can describe it is a feeling like someone is trying to push out my left eye from inside of my head with an ice pick. (Sorry so graphic, but that's what it feels like.)I have been on three medications perscribed by my doctor, even preventative ones, and nothing seems to work. I'm either still stuck in bed, I still vomit from the pain (which makes it hurt more), or on good days I can move around the house in low lighting.I know that a lot of you probably don't have cluster headaches, but if anyone gets migraines or regular headaches - what do you do to get rid of them? I know that most of you probably aren't doctors or anything, but I just would like some suggestions from anyone - PLEASE!!I'm hoping someone can help - thanks in advance to anyone who can help!! I used to suffer from cluster headaches, mine felt more like someone was driving a nail into the side of my head. I would get them every day and this cycle lasted for several months before they just went away on their own. But everyone is different. Mine were not as bad as yours have been. I could basically function every day, but it was annoying and distracting and made me feel edgy. I always suspected mine were hormone-related or perhaps connected to stress but that was just my theory. Sometimes they say certain foods bring on migraines. Like cheese or red wines. Some people swear that certain perfumes will bring on their migraines, as scent can be powerful to some people. Think about the things you are exposed to, or enjoy eating, and see if there could be some triggers in your environment. You may have to research it further on the internet to learn about other variables, and treatments that are available. Have you considered going for a massage? Some people swear that there are certain nerve endings in our feet that cause reactions all over our body. You might consider having a foot massage and see if you get any relief during one of your flare-ups. I hope you can find some relief.

You should ask for a referral to a consultant neurologist to exclude the possibility of any serious medical conditions associated with your pain. However, headaches are sometimes caused by triggers which are like an allergy - it was orange juice with me, but coffee and coke sometimes trigger awful headaches. It could be something within your home that you have developed an allergy to. Once you have had the all-clear from the doctor, you should try to have an allergy or sensitivity test to identify if there is anything that maybe responsible for your problem.
