My sister told me I had really bad breath the other night and I tried just chewing some gum to hide it until I could brush my teeth cause we were out but it didn't do anything! My boyfriend has told me a few times I had really bad breath and I feel horrible cause its disgusting! Any help on how to get rid of it would be great. Reply to this Question Share |

I don't smoke so it's not from that, I think I might have a digestive problem though I have gone to my doctor about it and he said it was natural. I personally don't think it is because I haven't met anyone with the same thing. Its after I eat I always have to burp, which is natural I'm sure, but everytime? I'm a girl so clearly I am not just letting er go, I do the little discret closed-mouth burp. If I don't I get these little noises coming up my throat, people don't usually hear them but I feel really self concsious if it's quiet and it seems pretty loud to me. Not sure if that has anything to do with it? haha anyways thanks to everyone :)

Are you sure your sister is not having you on as a bit of fun?
Maybe you should go to your dentist and ask to see the hygienist and they will sort it out for you and tell you how to look after your hygiene.
Diet the types of food you eat, can all effect your digestive system causing unpleasant pongs sometimes.
I would go to dentist first.
Do you smoke?

Have you tried flossing your teeth? Make sure you do that once every single day. Its really important to get floss so you can get out all the bits of food stuck between your teeth, that your toothbrush and mouthwashes cannot get out. If you dont you will have bits of meat stuck between your teeth, rotting, which will cause smell.
So I suggest you try that and see how it goes.
Also, take a look at the sorts of things you are eating. Some foods, like cheese make your breath stink really bad no matter who you are! So Id advoid that if you cant brush ur teeth right away. And the obvious things like garlic.
And keep brushing daily, keep using a mouthwash as well. Al together they will work well.

Look up "tonsil stones" or "tonsiloliths" (check spelling). They're one of the most frequent causes of bad breath, and particularly common in young adults. Try to avoid eating anything for an hour or so before you go to bed, and have a good, clean drink of water or squash or something like lemonade after your last meal of the evening - because the "tonsil stones" are lumps of bacteria that forms around tiny bits of food left around your tonsils (although they can be in other parts of your throat too), and that bacteria STINKS!! If it's very bad, go see a doctor for some advice. It's no good just trying to mask really bad breath with other things - you need to get to the cause of it.

Good luck!!

I asked my mom about the bumps and she said it is because I am dehydrated so I am drinking a lot more water than usual maybe that will help. Thanks for your advice :)

Illnesses can cause bad breath, you could try asking your doctor or your dentist if they have any solutions. Have you tried looking on google? Look for a health advice website and type in bad breath, and see if they have anything you haven't tried. Meanwhile, you might as well use everything you can, brush your teeth with very minty toothpaste for about 4 minutes after meals, use mouthwash and brush your tongue as bacteria there can cause bad breath. Use chewing gum when out and about, or you could get those listerine strips that melt on your tongue. Good luck hun! xxx
