 Hi babe,
Well first of all, if he hasnt already told you then i wouldnt say he's worth the time for asking.. All you can do is ask him, it could be that he isnt exactly happy with the relationship anymore and doesnt want to tell you, he may not want to hurt you.. i think just ask him, and if he says no, forget him.

 Well u may have already said these things to him, but all i can think of is just ask him in a good natured way what the reason was behind it all and he should say, or u could say to him that as a human being u have the right to know why he broke it off. I f that doesent work you could go as far as asking a couple of his mates . but other than that im not to sure what else you could say, if u cant find out after that well just dont worry bout, he would be an very poor bloke if he didnt tell u. hope it helps :p
