Sir, you are in a really difficult position. I think it will take some time for everyone to stop talking about it. I am sorry you have such an embarrassing situation on your hands. It is your wife and your boss who should feel like crap. Just try and be strong, you did nothing wrong.

 You should never have done this in the first place. You should have known that people would be laughing at you and speaking about you. You can't tell people what to do or think, eventually they will get bored, but for the time being you must accept this as a consequence of you stupid mistake!
