I am shy as well, so I know it's hard. Basically I just take a deep breath and try and get involved more. Maybe next time he's talking to your friends you coulf join in? Or perhaps if your friends know about your crush, they could organise for you all to go out as a group and like 'leave you two alone'?
Really just be yourself, have confidence in yourself. If he ends up not liking you then he is a jerk and you deserve better. You will fine the most lovely guy who is perfect for you x
