Get yourself a visa DEBIT card. You can attach this to any bank account,(open one if you have to)you can get it at any age, and you can use it just like a crdit card except you actually have to have to put the money in to you bank account first.
Some stores my also take pay pal or allow you to send a cheque or money order. Plenty of ways around asking the olds.
Mum may get over it if ya had to ask her, but I dont think dad's typically like the idea of anything going in their teenage daughters bits - not just men ..lol
