When in doubt, give. Even if he still decides to go...he may come back soon when he realizes what he left behind. Just throw yourself at him!

If you truly love them, pride should not be an issue, and if the last chance you have is to throw yourself at them, then that is what you should do. That is, if they are worth it. A life lived without emotion is not a life lived at all.

If they can't see that you love them and want to be with them there really isn't much you can do. A person needs to make their own mind up and want to stay with you.
The only thing you can do is be honest and adult about the whole situation. Tell them how you feel and what you want and let them make their own decision. Give them time and space and let them come to you.
If they don't, then don't take this as a failure on your part. You gave them an option and they chose not to take it...it's up to them. Things usually work out the way they're meant to.
Good luck :)
