I've been with my boyfriend for 5 years now and I wanted to settle down and have children about 2 years ago. He constantly said "it'll happen one day when I'm ready" every time I mentioned it.

In October last year I met someone else who lives in the US and I have really fallen for him. I don't know how to tell my boyfriend that I want to leave him, especially now because he has started to talk about settling down and having children since Christmas, after all this time. I waited so long for him to say yes to a real future together and now that he has started to talk about it I feel so guilty because I want to leave him and move to the States.

We own the house together too. I just want to know the best way to tell him that it's over without mentioning the other man in my life. He hasn't really done anything wrong so I want to try and let him down as gently as possible.
