writes: Today I just feel really depressed, i've been angry with my sister and mum. I think its because I feel like I don't have any close friends, I don't have a strong social network, someone who I can talk to when life seems to be against me. I'm usually a happy bunny, but we have easter holidays, and I have all these assignments to meet, and have so much work to do. I just feel really low and stressed. And I think my depression is also partially because I don't have a special someone - I don't even have anyone who I can consider, its just been getting me down as well. What i suppose I want is a few kind words :) , or advice -- how can I be happy with my life, I think maybe its to do with my self-esteem .

I am in your position at the moment too; stressed with exams and revision, boyfriend doing my head in, work all the time etc. The thing with us women is that our hormones play a big part in our mood everyday, and when we're on our period or something, we just go mad! Maybe this is why you were feeling especially low today, it will get better, I promise.
I suffer from depression too, due to my hormone levels. But all that gets me through it is knowing that it will get better. Isn't that what we're doing all this studying for? For the knowledge and piece of mind that, one day, our lives will be happy and fulfilled and successful? When you have to do some work, don't think of how boring or difficult it is, think of the big picture; where that work is getting you in the long run.
I don't think you need a boyfriend to be your 'special someone', I'm all for girl power! You need a good friend to talk to when you're feeling down like this, I promise you this will help. They'll help you to put things in perspective and you also get to hear traumas in everyone elses life and laugh, so you're taking your mind off what you have to worry about.
I hope I have helped, I know exactly what you're going through at the moment. The only thing keeping me going right now is knowing that I will have the whole summer off once this is all over. This is a small part of your life in the grand scheme of the world and you will get through it.
Maybe talk to a counsellor (as I've started doing recently) if you think it's getting you down too much or see your doctor. But before those drastic measures, try some Positive Mental Attitude!!! Good luck and keep going.
