Us ladies tend to get urinary tract infections quite a lot and stinging is a symptom! Since you are not sexually active it wouldn't seem that a STI is likely in your case. Not going to the loo when you need to can aggravate the problem. You can drink cranberry juice which is a clinically proven solution (...but it has to be the neat juice and not the watered down drinks you sometimes get in the supermarket so try a health food shop instead). You can easily be checked out by a GP who can do a simple test for a urinary tract infection and give you antibiotics if needed. This would be a wise course of action because urinary tract infections can turn nasty and work their way up to the kidneys which is very painful.
Irrespective of the causes of your symptoms right now, you should start talking to your mother about bodily stuff as she is a female after all and has been there before!!! If you really don't feel you can, find someone else like a teacher or school counsellor to give advice.

Go to your GP tell him it hurts when you pee sometimes and you think it may be a urine infection, he will ask you to do a urine sample, he will send that off to a lab and get your results within 2 weeks usually.
in the meantime drink plenty of water becuase you can just flush it out, but go to the doctor to get it properly checked out.

You can visit your local GP as they can give the best medical advice here. Also if you feel uncomfortable you can have a female doctor or a practicioner nurse present. Just tell your mum that you wanna see your doctor and if she asks why just tell her what you feel comfortable too.

You could have cystitus which is a bladder infection, you need to tell your mum and she can book a visit to your GP, this is nothing to worry about and will be cleared up easily, possibly with antibiotics. Drink plenty of fluids in the meantime like cranberry juice and steer clear of fizzy drinks as these can dehydrate you. When you shower make sure you clean yourself properly and avoid soaps at the moment as this could irritate you. But make sure you see your GP as if this is left untreated it could lead to problems with your kidneys. Please don't be embarrassed this is perfectly normal.
