How can I ask my close friend out in a subtle manner?

Question - (3 September 2008) 1 Answers - (Newest, 3 September 2008)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I like a shy guy. As I've hung out with him in group settings we've gotten to know each other better. I am pretty sure he likes me too. He treats me different than my other friend who's a girl. I want to ask him out in a low key way, so I don't scare him,but I also want to be clear with my intentions. What should I do? Also my best guy friend who recently moved away will be moving back soon.I am worried about this because we dated over a year ago,I broke up with him, and am COMPLETELY over him. Unfortunately, I don't think he's over me. I don't want to hurt him,and I don't want him to sabbotage things with this new guy. Again, what should I do?

supermum agony auntfirst of all, say to the guy... why dont you and me go to the (insert your choice of anything), so we can soend some time together?

Its worked for me lol...

just make it clear you want to go with him alone.

As for this other guy, when he moves back, you just need to gently let him know your not interested anymore... and dont let your crush see you and your ex alone together!
