I think his wage is the least of your worries.It doesn't really matter what he can afford when he comes back from training because chances are he'll be sent away some where anyway.There is a big chance he'll get sent away to Iraq. The Americans are not pulling any time soon, they're moving into Basra to replace us over there at the moment.Plus it may all change depending on who wins your election.If he's going into the army then tell him to get into a trade where he'll get training he can use in the outside world. Tell him to be an engineer or something.Tell him there is no guarantee that you will agree to marry him if he's going to be gone for several years and find out why he wants to go and be cannon fodder in the infantry.Also tell him that when a mortar alarm goes off to just lie down on the spot. The US train their guys to run for cover which is really stupid and why they keep dying.Good Luck!! xx
