This is more of a question for a medical forum but I thought I might get your guys views as you always seem to give some good advice...

I am married, 2 years, happily. I never was on the pill, then recently decided to take it because were weren't sure more children would be financially viable at the moment... we have 2 already and do want more in future... anyhow, I took the pill for 6 days then decided to stop because I was feeling unwell as I had done 10 years ago when I took the pill last.

So, I took this pill for 6 days, starting on the first day of my period. My period finished as usual, I stopped the pills because I didn't feel right, I then had another period 6 days after stopping the pill - I bled for 3 days.

My question is, would taking the pill for just 6 days cause my body to act as though it was ready for another bleed, or are 6 dys worth not enough. Could this 3 days of bleeding be implantation bleeding as it was around the time i would be ovulating....

Can implantation bleeding happen for 3 days?

Am I to expect another period in 2 weeks? (Joy oh joy!! :))

I just wondered if any of you had any similar experiences with this kind of thing and if there is hope for my husband who's just had a rather unusually hormonal wife for far too many weeks in a monthly cycle heh,...

oh, I don't know if it will matter but the pill was cilest. my cycles are regular.

thanks.....

xxx

Yeh, my doctor said im ok, i did see him at the time and wont be taking the pill again - 10 yrs ago i put on a lot of weight on the pill and swapped to cilest, which was the only one that was ok back then, then i just decided that it was safer for me to not take them at all, my dr agreed that was ok and i just protcted myself other ways.

This time around my dr gave me a full medical and my nurse gae me an internal and i was put bk on the pill with the all ok and nod of approval. I do listen to my body though, hence stopping after just 6 days - my dr assures me im ok, now, and that everyone is different and that it'd be too early to tell if im pregnant or anything so we'll see what happens in a few weeks then ill get checked out again.

My whole point on this was just curiosity of similar experiences, perhaps im unique? My poor husband though!!

Aside from the pill though, has anyone experienced implantation bleeding? I read up a bit on this last night, i never had it with my pregnancy but i didnt know i was pregnant because i was still having what looked like regular bleeds for 4 months before i knew was preggo...maybe my body is just screwed - apparently im healthy though..

*shrugs*

Thanks for the couple of replies - i'll check back, just in case....

:)

xx

wonderingcat agony auntEach person has different hormonal cycles and conditions. That is why you need to consult your ob/gyn for this. For some, generic over the counter pills may work, for others they may not.

The best thing for you to do is to get a complete medical and hormonal check to make sure you will get the appropriate treatment that best suited your condition.

You feeling unwell after taking the pills sounds like they were not suited for you. Listen to your body. Taking the pills before a medical consultation and checkup is also not advisable.

Please make an appointment to see your doctor soon. Your bleeding could simply be just a regular period but it could also be a reaction against the pills.

Be healthy!
