This is probably trivial but it's made me so angry I would like to pick your brains!I called in sick today at work because I am unwell, I have a horrendous cough which I've thrown up with and a very sore throat. All week I been struggling but I've gone in but because I work on the phones it makes my throat/cough worse. Also bear in mind I haven't taken a sick day for nearly 2 years!Now the person who has a problem with me not going in isn't my boss, it's my mother!!! Already this morning she had a go saying "well you need to dose up" etc... Which I have been doing but there's only so much cough mixture and throat sweets u can take.Then she had the cheek to say that since i'm home I can empty the dishwasher, put the clothes out, tidy the house etc... Why?? Why the hell is she being like this?? She has been off work sick more in the past 3 months than I in 2 years! I'm so angry with her attitude! I don't need to justify myself to her and why does she care? I'm entitled to sick pay so the money isn't an issue. Any thoughts??

 If it's your troath that is hurting I dont see the problem with doing physical work. And she's not asking you to do heavy labour, its just the dishwasher... I don't even have a dishwasher. I have to wash all my things by hand. Sorry but thats not hard to do and it's a daily chore that should be done every time, even several times a day. None of the things she wants you to do will damage your throath.
Now imagine this, I was sick with a fever and my step-dad wanted me to go slay fish for him outside. Now thats what I call a little unfair.
