When you don't understand what he says ask him!

It doesn't say anything to me at all, other than that he must like fantasy movies. Even if he likes to be indirect though, doesn't mean you shouldn't ask him for a translation. To me, such a phrase would tell me two things:
1. He has no idea how to formulate himself/isn't that good with words and
2. He has no clue what love is, because I've never heard anyone compare it to a paradox of a weapon. It certainly isn't love he's talking about.
Actually, it tells me a third thing too. 3. Since a knife can not be both single edged and double edged, he can't know much about knives or swords, or understand what it means that they are sharp on JUST one side OR both sides... since he thinks they somehow can be combined, lol

I'd ask him to explain, because YOU don't know what he means.

It's him trying to be cheesy and deep. Don't think too much about it because it's just a few words together that he thought sounded cool.
