I gave my partner oral sex and am quite confused about what happens. oral herpes is called HSv1 right? and genital herpes is called HSV 2? so if i have only ever had HSV 1 and give my partner oral whilst having a break out, does this mean he will have HSV1 or HSV2? he has had no symptoms or anything. Thanks

I would think this would be extremily rare, You can get some infections spread via oral, however you giving someone else oral, suggests it would be hard to swop the infection. If there are any thaughts that either you or your partner has an infection, get checked out right away , I hope i could help, Mail me if you would like to talk x x

This is a prime example of why there are so many STD's in this world. People who have no business having sex because either:
1. they don't give a damn who gets infected
or
2. they have no clue about the human body and sexual reproduction
are going at it like rabbits. Talk to your doctor and listen closely to what he tells you.

Rarely, genital infections can be due to HSV1 that has been transmitted by oral contact with the genitals.
The incubation period is usually about a week, so if you have done this and he is concerned then he should visit his doctor for tests.
Take care.xx.
