writes:my boyfriend n me have been together for 4 years n we really wanted to get married. however we are of different religions so we knew we would face problems convincing our families. he tried his luck really hard at business so that he could stand on his feet n marry me. however it didnt work. due to these financial problems he says its not possible to get married since he won't be able to satisfy my needs. his father has fixed his marriage for the 17th of november to some girl n my boyfriend n me had to split up cause he couldn't go against his family without financial stability nor approach mine without a decent income. we still love each other a lot but i see no way out of this mess. please help.

reader, anonymous, writes (5 January 2010): Sounds as if you're running into some cultural issues in your country. Can't be of much help, other than to suggest that you either find a potential husband that fits the requirements of marriage in your culture, or move to a new country that will allow you to seek your own happiness without intruding in your personal love life.
