writes: Iv have noticed my personal trainer has been flirting with me and i admit that i have developed a small crush on him but because i only see him while im at the gym working out and when his working i dont know if he is just flirting and being nice to me because its his job or if he is being for real. i have never found myself in a situation like this before and i would like to know if anyone else has been in the same situation as me ? i would like to persue this guy but im worried im going to end up getting rejected or heartbroken, what do people think?, is he being for real or should i just aviod the situation altogether?

reader, anonymous, writes (28 February 2006): Firstly make sure he hasn't got a partner first! I made the mistake of enjoying similiar attention and then after two weeks of working/flirting and really enjoying a new friendship that I had high hopes for, he turns round and says it should stop really because he is seeing someone. I was left very confused! Anyway less about me, I think a few friendly questions to him about his life, ie where do you go out with your partner? gives him a chance to say 'I dont have one! and then if you chat about social things and see if you have the same likes it might become a bit clearer that you and he have things incommon and would enjoy a friendship outside of the gym. That way you would know for sure it is not about his job/being nice and whether he has a partner and dont worry about being rejected or avoiding the situation, be strong and confident and a bit more skilled in finding out who he is, with more knowledge you will know what the next step to take should be.....dont forget, be happy and enjoy....life is too serious to stop something before it even got started!!!
