My boyfriend is generally an easy going guy but whenever I greet these old friends he gives them really disapproving looks because he thinks they are trying to pick me up, which gives my guy friends the impression that he is a jerk before I even get a chance to introduce him to them. Its really frustrating because the next day I'll get texts from my friends saying "i dont think your boyfriend likes me..." and I want others to see what I see in him, that he is a sweet guy. What should I do or say to him to stop this from happening?

You're boyfriend is just sizing up the others making sure they're not trying to invade his territory. So the jealousy side of him got the best of him. I would just have a talk with him, discuss that these guys are old friends, no flames, nothing, and that that his dirty looks some of the guys took offense to when they actually wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. Kindly tell him to keep his jealousy side in check and give these friends the time of day. Hopefully he won't wear want he's feeling next time.
