 When he's sober he avoids you like the plague but when he's drunk he is all over you. However, his inebriated behavior isn't enough to justify whether he likes you or not...So let's focus on the sober part of him..He knew you fancied him but didn't act upon it. Therefore I'd say he was either shy or didn't reciprocate the feelings. In order to know for sure, why don't you have a talk with him when he's sober and ask what is his deal? He may have a valid explanation. However, if you're looking to get with him, then I suggest you stop stringing your boyfriend along. You can't get to a guy by dating his best mate, doesn't work that way.
