I wouldn't go to the salon to get it done just but wax and ask someone you trust to wax. Don't wax yourself it will be alot more painful than someone doing it for you. Believe me.

If this is the first time you are doing it. Use Nair, the hair dissolver. Use it in the bathtub. Rinse all the mess out. You might want not want to go all bald. Leave a line, or a downward triangle in the middle. It can be really short, like 1 cm. Get an electric trimmer. Watch out for your intimate areas and use your fingers to cover them while trimming with the other hand.

Use a razor. Do it a week before you are to leave on vacation.. so in other words NOW. This is because you are likely to cut yourself as you've never done it before down there. So you need time to practice getting it right. Shave like you do your legs. Go with the growth of the hair, not against, and use a light touch. Your aim is not to be smooth as a baby's butt, you will only cut yourself that way.
Google it for more tips.

Firstly, make sure you have a PROPER good razor, not one of those crappy disposable things, as they can leave you with a horrible, stubbly, itchy finish. Secondly, make sure you have a decent shave gel (ones such as gilette women or even just asda's own are good).
Right, now to the actual shaving part. Make sure you shave in the direction of the haiors (downwards) for the long hairs as otherwise you will get a horrible red rash and it can be very painful during regrowth. When you get down to the shorter bits, I find that sideways shaving is ok as this doesn't yank the hairs out but still gives a nice smooth finish.
A day or so after shaving, it is normal for it to be slightly ithchy (ESPECIALLY if its your first time shaving bikini line!) as the hairs are beginning the regrowth cycle. You may want to do it a couple of days before you go on hol so your not itchin on the journey there!
Hope this helps? Just message back for any more info!!

Find the home waxing strips that are on plastic-backed waxing strips - it makes it less of a mess than applying the hot wax yourself. These plastic strips with wax are heated up with your hand warmth before you wax. You can cut them with scissors to get the exact size you need for the area. But always remember to pull your skin tight from the opposite direction that your pulling the strip off. Gotta make sure your hair is at least 1/4 inch for it to work though. Don't shower before hand. Hope this helps!
