Okay...well my best friend just died and I've been handling it quite strangely...but anyways I've decided that I wanted to get a tattoo for him...nothing like rip or stuff like that...I searched and searched for quotes and I couldnt find one that I just loved...so I went on my best friends Facebook and his last post before he died was "life's a bitch and imma dance with her" he said this a day before he got in a car wreck and died...I scrolled down a little further and he had made up his own quote "start living, that's the next thing on my list" I LOVE both of them and I can't decide which one to pick for my tattoo...if anyone wants to put their thoughts into my idea I would appreciate it so much!!! Thank you3

So_Very_Confused agony auntI agree with eyes wide open I love tatts I have two of them but if you see me in business clothing you would never know it.

also you need to be sober and 18 to get one unless mom or dad will sign for you before age 18

just know that where you put it and how old you are will affect the tatt... skin sags... weight gain and loss affects the tatt (my thigh tat is now 2 inches lower and more towards the front since I got it and my shoulder tatt shrunk in size tremendously as I lost a lot of weight...)

also what you want NOW you may not want later and it's very hard and expensive and painful to remove or modify tatts.... i was in my 40s when I got both of mine...

A female reader, chigirl Norway +, writes (5 December 2011):

chigirl agony auntI personally am not for text as tattoo's. Texts or quotes work as life mantra's, but decoration? Try to sew it on a pillow and have it in your room instead, and if you feel it is still amazing to have on a pillow in your room after a year then put it on your body.

If not, I much rather would advise you to get a symbol. Something that is pretty, and reminds you of him, but also of your friendship with him. Your body is not to be an altar for him, or dedicated to him, the tattoo is a part of you, and should be a reminder to YOU about him. So choose something that makes YOU think of him, makes you feel good, and reminds you of the friendship you and him shared together.

His facebook status isn't a reflection of the friendship you and him had, which is why I think it is a bad idea. His facebook statuses are also just quotes, and not necessarily something representative of him as a person.

eyeswideopen agony auntSome companies do not allow tats. So I have only three words of advice for you. Location, location, location.

bluecow agony auntSo sorry for you loss.

I like...

Start living, thats the next thing on my list

Aside from that, are you getting any support with grieving?

I can tell you that your not likely to be handling it "strangely". People respond to grief in such different ways, and there is no wrong or right way to it. Just try to make sure you are getting the support you need.

Best wishes.
