Do you remember the first time you went on a date with her? Or the first time you said the L word to her? or the fist song that now is your song? Or the dress that she wore that always melts your heart? Choose any of those most memorable "firsts", then either go to the same place or try to "recreate" the same "set up" or ambiance. Then say something like "Remember the first time we did this?" or "You melt me, but you make me a stronger and better person". Then you go down on your knees, or whisper softly in her ears ... whichever works best. You read her the vows or poem or promises that you have written for her. The last line should be your proposal!
Yes, it should be about her!
Congratulations and I am certain she will say YES!

Tell her how much you love her and that you want to be with her...go for a romantic stroll as the sun sets or under the stars, have 'will you marry me' written in the sand or if you're more traditional get down on one knee.
good luck!

Don't take the advice of sliding the ring onto her finger by a piece of cotton! If your girlfriend has saw stepmom then she will kill you for copying!

cook her a meal, get down on one knee during dessert, or take her to a fancy resturant and ask her there....does she have a favourite place? You hae to think about the things she likes, tailor make it to her interests...my husband was cuddling me and just said "we should get married" and i said "yes" with no fancy gestures, nothing, because i hate all that stuff, and it was just right. If she loves you, she wont mind how you ask....good luck!!!
