Well, first off, don't do that anymore. It is extremely annoying, especially if he knew it was you. If you are already in a flirty type relationship with this guy, just SLOWLY bump it up. Invite him to hang out at a ballgame, or at the races or something equally low-pressure. I'm sure it is rejection you fear, but sometimes you just have to put yourself out there. You can minimize the possibility of damaging the 'just friends' relationship that you already have by keeping things low-key while trying to instigate more time spent together. Hope this helps!
