reader, anonymous, writes (1 February 2009): I agree with Stayc: since you're not talking marriage, then pick whoever you Want to be with.
Guy A needs someone to soften him up...if you can handle being the more loving one, then he's a good choice. (you need family for support when you get drained though-and if he doesn't like that you turn to them sometimes, then he's a no-go))
Guy B is for fun, but I wouldn't consider him marriage material unless you see positive changes and purpose in his life (and don't believe it until you see it--this happened to me and I should've waited at least a year to see if he'd stick to his goals or pitch them)

Looking for a nice time, would choose for B and who knows..., he finds a nice job and can control alcohol (or you start your own business with earning a living and working and enjoying life together).

 I know it may not be what you want to hear but neither. If one of them was the right one for you then there would be no problem choosing. It seems like more superficial things you are deciding between, and I'm not judging you since I have been in a similar situation as well. But like I said, there would be no problem choosing if it was real love for either of them. Each has their own certain problems you don't like so why "put up" with either guy? Get the right one for you. Good luck.

I would say it depends how serious you are about getting into a relationship, are you looking for someone to settle down with for the long term or a more casual relationship? If your looking for a future then maybe A is the best option, but compared to guy B he sounds kind of boring and obnoxious, at least you know you would have a lot of fun with B, maybe if you start off casual then in a couple of years he'll have earnt some more money, plus if it doesn't work out, you can always look back on the good memories of the times u laughed

Well, my perspective is she has to choose the guy she is happiest with, she has her 'shopping list' but sadly when love comes along the shopping list gets thrown away.... ok, so guy B doesn't have the attributes of guy A but he does seem to be a more together person, and to be honest most likely will give you less grief than guy A.
Personal possessions are not that important, after all, you could enjoy the fun of hellping guy B improve his personal wealth, which when added to a great personality, well, see where I'm going?
