I have taken two digital tests- both came out negitive and I have also taken a early response pregnancy test, could I be pregnant or just really late? I exercise 6 days a week, working out 60 miniutes or more, could this have an effect on this also? I have never missed a period! Help!

Home tests are not the most accurest of tests. They work on your hormones, and if your hormones are low, it will not pick it up. I reckon there is a good chance that you could be pregnant if your periods are regular and you are almost a week late. You also havent given us any info in when you last had sex or if youre on any contraceptive. I would take a blood test, or wait another week to take another home pregnancy test. Also watch out for implantation bleeding, which if you get it,instead of your period (spots of brown blood) its a sure sign. Goodluck

onestarq is verified as being by the original poster of the questionThank you to all that wrote in, you have no idea what it means to me that you took time out of your busy day and responded. Yes, I am an athlete and I train 6 days a week; so that may have something to do with it. I am starting to feel the "normal female issues" that I would fee, so I think I am going to be okay. I wish I could hug all of you- Thanks!

False negatives are common in pregnancy tests but since you've done 2 tests you're probably perfectly okay. Like the other person said if you exercise to the point where you've recently lost a lot of weight or are very thin then your periods can stop as a result of that. Give it another week and if there's still no sign have a chat with your doctor just to be safe.

With my experience the stress of worrying that you might be pregnant might be causing it to be late. Most likely since your test came out negative ur not pregnant. It all depends on how strong your hormones for the test to read. I would wait another week and take another test. If its still negative then, then ur probably not pregnant.

If your BMI is really low and you have very little fat on you, you can delay your period. Professional atheletes delay their periods and miss them because of this. There are lots of reasons for a late period. Mine changes when there are other people living or working closely with me as well, I start syncronizing with the other females cycles. Did you follow all the directions carefully? You can also try another test and use your first morning sample. Good Luck Honey.

You're only a tiny bit late.
Don't worry about something which might not be the case. Try to restrain your worries to real problems.
If the tests are negative, then they're negative. Wait another week and try one again.
A lot of exercise, if it results in a lot of weight loss, can affect your periods making them late or even stop altogether. If you are exercising that much, make sure you eat plenty.
