I know that people say that they don't have a heart and they are just starring at a pixel or username, but why do those immature brats keep forgetting about the person behind it? like they are some really evil person with no conscience whatsoever?I wonder where they will end up in the end. I don't think Heaven takes in those kinds of people. Those Who hurt others purposely.P.S. I think some people actually take time out of their day to insult others. it's really sad.

Like they can't take it? I guess you're right (all), there's no MATURITY TEST needed to go on the internet, just some money for an internet connection and or a bus pass to the library!

Because it can be safely done without any physical damage to the other person.Flynn 24

People are mean over the internet because it has some annonymity (sp?) to it. Its also a way for people to vent. There are different kinds of though. Targeting people on a personal level is due to insecurities. Targeting an audience is through boredom and to get flaming and response. Either way these are things you couldn't really get away with to the full extent in real life. No punishment as such. The only way these people can really get punished is if they are seriously breaking laws. OR they seriously piss of an IT genius. Also to your case the Meghan Meiyer. Its parents ignorance and lack of knowledge that is the biggest danger. IT is the skill of the younger generation, The older generation siverely lack the skills to understand and protect their children. I personally have always supported a license to own and operate a PC. It would force adults and children to understand the dangers of the internet and encourage responsible and safe use.I read a case of some kids dad putting a spy program on their PC. When he checked the results he found his daughter was being groomed online by a paedophile. The internet is a very dangerous resource if not understood.

because the anonymity of the internet lets people be jackasses just for the heck of it. To alot of people, those other forums are there as a joke so they treat it as such. I know this is a rotten example, but I liked to play a popular online game sometimes. When I did there always was one or two people (usually kids) who went around doing dumb crap and pissing people off just because they were bored. They got off on the reaction they were getting from the other players. The point is, online you are not really real. You are but since there is no real punishment for bad behavior it doesnt feel real to some immature people. Those people would read whet I just wrote and tell me, "whatever, kiss my butt" or something like that.

Some people have insecurities and personal issues within themselves, so in order to counteract those bad things, they make themselves feel better/high-and-mighty by putting other people down.
I guarantee you, though, that they wouldn't have the guts to say half those things to peoples' faces.

Prior to coming to this site, I spent a lot of time on the Craigslist "Rants and raves". Many people used a handle, or some sort of moniker to identify their posts. It was a community, but not a very nice one.
I could not believe the hatred!
I started reading this forum, and noticed that people treat people, like people!
Today, as I was driving along, I started thinking about it. I feel like the village scout that went and explored what was beyond the trees.
On one hand I thought about going to Cl's R&R section, and spreading the word that I found a nice place. Then, I thought, BAD IDEA!!! I don't want any of those people who are so full of hatred and anger coming here!
There were many times when someone would ask a question, just like we do here, and the answers they would get would be just horrible! Sheeesh.
