Head over heels in love since October

A female United States age 26-29, anonymous writes:

So, I have been entirely head over heels in love with this boy since October. He is also my best friend. The 'I can tell you anything whatsoever' type of best friend.

The issue is he's in love with a girl that lives very far away, (she loves him too) he has a girlfriend here, whom he also loves very dearly. And he does not like me any more than a friend, if even that I'm thinking lately. He seems distant.

He knows that I like him, I told him quiet a while ago and he didn't seem to care. He seems used to all he girls. But he is not the player type of guy. to sum it up he's emo and you wouldn't be surprised to learn that he's gay if you knew him. He understands girls and is always there for anyone. Even if he doesn't personally like them very much.

Well my question is, How do I get over him? I'm thinking of him almost 24/7 (very literal there, nearly failing classes from daydreaming). Or is there any advice you could give me to follow? ignoring him and trying to distract myself don't work. please, help!!

A female reader, Blackqueen United States +, writes (29 December 2009):

To me he sounds like a bit of a player Hun. Trust me I've been in your shoes before. If he's going back and forth between girls how well do you think your gonna fit into that equation? He won't treat you any better. You don't want to ruin your friendship with him by telling him and making things between you two awkward. He needs a friend not another girl drama to worry about. Don't worry believe or not how far out it seems that guy for you will come to you when your not looking for one. It's always happens like that. Hope this helps girl!
