He's been trying to be apart of our lives for the past few weeks. We've (us and his kids) at my house or at his. He spent this past weekend with us at my apartment, just hanging out. Watching movies, eating together, spending time together. Things have been going pretty good between us. The big issue here is trust. I don't feel like how I once felt for him. All I can think of is him going outside of the relationship. What should I do? Reply to this Question Share |

I am afraid she will see him as her dad, and one day he will just walk out on her again. You need to tell us why he signed his rights away, how long ago, how old your child is, etc..

The main thing you have to think about is why suddenly does he want to be apart of your lives again signing over his rights as your daugthers dad is a serious thing to do and is basically saying he didn't want to be part of her life and yours and then to just come back is strange to say the least you need to find out why he did this. the thing you need to think about is your kids and what it would do to them if suddenly he walked out and broke your heart its difficult to have a good relationship if you do not trust someone as that would put a huge amount of stress upon you as you are now you will be constantly wanting explanations for where he goes or why he is late or who's phoning him and that would cause arguments and effect your kids i am not telling you what to do i am just giving you some things to think about before you make oyur final decision because trust is an important factor in a relationship maybe the most as its what most couples depend on knowing that that person will be their and will never betray the trust you put in them
good luck

I think that it is worth a try. I am sure your daughter is enjoying having him in her life again. No matter what stupid mistakes he has made 9 out of 10 his daughter still loves him.He may have realized that he made a big mistake and is trying to make up for it. This is your opportunity to show him how to handle the responsibility that you share like an adult. It sounds like you have been doing well so far. You have every right to be skeptical, but you do not want to be the reason that her dad is not in her life. Good luck.
