Vixen_The_Vampyre agony auntI am wondering if perhaps you might need to see a gyn doctor that perhaps something is a bit off.....Im surprised no one mentioned this btw.

Also, are you sexually active (intercourse) ?

Not to be graphic but if you are and don't use condoms and he cums inside you it can make you smell funny sometimes.

I had this issue with a boyfriend many years ago - he is the only one it every happened with - and I figured he didnt like the way HE smelled so we started using condoms and never had a problem.

Lasttly if none of the above are the issue you might try to make a quick dash to the bathroom to quickly wash up a bit if you think you might be doing something with him....no woman smells like candy by the end of the day or after getting sweaty, thats just life.

Good luck !

A reader, anonymous, writes (30 September 2006):

Helpful girls advice is stupid, I am sorry, but using extra soap can cause thrush and make the problem worse, the fish smell is quite common in women, you ned to use a mild soap, and dont use too much either as it will aggrevate the bacteria and make it smell worse, well I cant write anymore, this aint my pc, its my mates, so I best go!!! Using bubble bath is another stupid suggestion, that makes it worse. Dont try to have a bath or shower everyday, thats just basic hygiene, I shower twice a day every day and sometimes, the smell is still there, so its not about hygiene necessarily.

Good luck. xXx

David Lewis agony auntTell him his breath smells worse, probably because of all the shit that comes out of his mouth. Say, "your breath smells like fart"

Or tell him your other boyfriends don't mind it.

Either way, dump the insensitive barsteward.

Toria agony auntEveryone has their own smell and taste this is normal, some men have no problem with this where as others find it something hard to overcome.

You can help by concentrating on your personal hygiene and I've always found carrying around fem wipes in my bag for a quick freshen up handy and really works as sometimes the problem is just simply hot weather or the type of trousers your wearing as to making you sweat there or something.

I hope this helps :o)

Yos agony auntAll women (and men) smell a bit. It's natural and normal, you have nothing to be ashamed of, you are just human like the rest of us.

By all means wash, but you don't need to feel you need to go any further than that. The person that needs to make the effort to overcome their preconceptions here is him not you.

Personally I think that liking someones smell is a big part of compatibility. There's been lots of scientific studies done into this, the overall conclusion being that smell plays a major role in attraction. At the very least, we strongly associate someones smell with that person. A person and their smell are part of the whole package, you don't get one without the other.

A female reader, beentheredonethat +, writes (28 September 2006):

beentheredonethat agony auntWell...you are both very young and he will eventually learn to appreciate the natural smell of a woman. However what you eat Does affect how you taste...and it is true for men also. Medicine, diet, and cycle are the first factors to consider. Drugs do strange things to you...they affect the smell of your breath, sweat and vaginal secretions...its true of everyone, not just you. Diets of fast food, meat, cabbage, alcohol and seafood will give you a stronger Odor just like spice and garlic and onion will. Things that make the Odor sweeter and more pleasant are fresh pineapple, strawberries, lots of water etc. And if all else fails....that is what the flavored lubricants are all about...they will certainly mask any slight natural oder he encounters. But, do buy something made for that area and purpose and don't try anything petroleum based as it will destroy your condom. Also, in my book...for me to feel comfy with receiving oral...I insist on a bath for myself...Just to make sure. Don't be mad at him...you are both learning that sex is not what you see on the big screen where everything is romantic and perfect....real life has odors and consequences so try not to rush. Take your time to inform yourselves, communicate openly, Then experiment safely. It is a shame that your life can depend on the decisions you make at such a young age but it is a fact and you must understand that burden before you leap in the dark.
