I remember being quite shocked at the time but since we started college i find the gap between 16/17 and 19/20 definately doesnt seem as huge as it did in highschool. I think if you really like each other then you should go for it! But don't let his age intimidate you into rushing anything. Make sure he treats you with respect! Good luck huni

4 years is a big gap at your age. People change so much in the 4 years between 16 and 20. Of course individual people vary, so it isn’t possible to have hard and fast rules. Like the other responder asked – is it nearer 3 years or 5? 20 and 17 sounds OK. He is a nice guy to be thinking like that – not every man would. Ask him, when he’s sober, if he still feels the same about the age gap, and if he is still uncomfortable with it then that is the end of the matter really.

Did you kiss him again today??Sounds to me like he does like you, but can't do anything about it because of your age. A drunk mind speaks a sober heart.Maybe have a talk to him about how you feel and find out exactly how he feels, but he might stick to his idea that nothing can happen because of your age. If he does, you have to respect his opinion.Good luck baby xxxx

I was 19 and my gf 16 when we met, but I turned 20 in april and shes still 16 until next week - mid july. during those weeks of me being 20 and her 16, we thought maybe it would be an issue with her parents, but it wasnt and all is great. :) I guess it depends how soon it is till you're 17, and how much longer he'll be 20 and not 21. ... what i mean is that a 16year old and a 21year old could be even more confusing for you.
