He thinks I'm a bad girlfriend because my periods are longer than normal and limit sex

A female age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Should I dump my idiot of a boyfriend? I'm sorry, but I'm just PISSED OFF with him, I could slap him across the face! See, I'm on my period. For some reason I've been bleeding for two weeks already. It's not a cause of concern, since I switched pills and my gyno said it was expected and normal. It's not been heavy bleeding, just spotting last week and my normal period this week... I'm spotting again, because my period should end around Sunday.

Well, today he asked me on the phone whether I was "ok" already or not. I told him I was still bleeding a bit, and he got pissed off! He hung up on me! I called him again and he told me "it sucked" to be with someone like me. I asked him to explain himself. He said it sucked that I'd been bleeding for 2 weeks and we haven't been able to have sex, that normal women don't and that they usually have shorter periods. Well, I'm sorry, I said, I've always had a 7 day long period and as far as I'm concerned that's as normal as it gets! He told me that his friends' girlfriends have periods that last 4 or 5 days, tops, and that one of his female friends has her period for about 3 days only.

I told him he was immature and that he sucked if he couldn't accept me and was that shallow, and if he was so ignorant not to know that I'm actually very healthy and fertile... my gyno told me! He should be glad too. My periods may be long, but I've never had excruciating pain from them, nor do I get PMS, like most other women.

Finally, I told him if he was so desperate, he could go wank. The nerve... should I dump him? He made me feel like I was defective and got angry at me for something completely out of my control. Hey, I hate being on my period like everyone else, so if I could have it done in a day, I would, but unfortunately I can't fight biology.

What words should I use so that his male brain can understand? How can I explain to him that it's something out of my control, what can I compare it to so that he'll get the point?

I'm honestly still really angry that he tried to make me feel guilty over something that is normal and well... it's just life.

yeap, dump this looser...AND it's not "just life" it's life with an A-hole... dump this guy...

A few thoughts for the NEXT guy...

1. You can have sex while your on your period, it's just a bit of blood, assuming that it's not too heavy. Get a towel, so lube and have fun!

2. Oral sex (you giving), hand sex, and anal are all possible alternatives. He should have been smarter... blow jobs feel the same regardless of if Aunt Flo is in town...

3. Pick a nicer guy next time... he can go wank off now for a few months!

Yes, clearly dump him. He has no idea about women at all. What happens if you get ill with something else? He won't care. Get rid of him. And if the bleeding continues, make sure you go to the doctor.

This guy sounds like a prick, I'm sorry. To me it sounds like he is only in the relationship for the sex. I think everything you said to him sounds reasonable...like you said, go jerk off if you can't control yourself man! I also have very long periods, but what can you do about it? It's nature, and if he is too impatient to wait he should go find someone else to be with. You will be better off without him.
