If you think that he is not one among those who would use girl, then maybe there is something that is bothering him which is being an obstacle for you 2 getting marry. why don't you talk to him?
if you see that he is replying you strangely and rudely then you better break up. because it means he has been using you

 I think you need to talk about this with your boyfriend. ask him his problem.you said that he promised to marry you but now he reject you..you kept physical relationship with this guy..may be he used you just for sex or some other reason.. talk to him..
