A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I'm 19 and my boyfriend just turned 21 last month and he goes to the bar all the time and of course i can't go... plus he stays out all night sometimes and it drives me crazy. And if that isn't bad enough when i want to hang out with my friends all night long; he gets offended because he isn't invited. Is this just a phase that every guy goes through or should i start apartment shopping?

He's not being fair. Dump him and find a guy who won't ban you from doing what you want to do.

eddie agony auntYou should fix it or find another place to live. He's controlling you and he's insecure. Unless you've given him reason to worry, it's not fair. Why should you pay the price for something you haven't done. He feels by controlling you, he can make sure you don't cheat. If you give him an inch now, he'll take a mile. Once you give in to his ways, it will, in his mind, justify his warped reasoning.

If you challenge him on this, he'll get angry because he'll have no good answer for yo.
