He told me right away that he had a vasectomy, but seemd startled when I told him I couldn't get pregnant because I had an IUD. The IUD occasionally caused me some mild discomfort (nothing out of the ordinary) which seemed to fueled my boyfriend's suggestions for me to have it removed. I had it removed today and am feeling a little vulnerable now. Although he's "fixed" he often jokes about me getting pregnant and I'm beginning to wonder (nervously)... For example, why was he so interested in me having it removed? Do you think I'm being suspicious for no reason? Reply to this Question Share |

We both know that a baby right now would create a crisis in our lives. Honestly the idea that he would toy with me about something like that is difficult for me to get my mind around. I adore this man and believe that he's a wonderful person -who does have his flaws... Since I have already had my IUD removed, I think I might have made a serious mistake.

I agree, many guys either get turned on by the idea of getting a woman pregnant (actually makes sense from an evolutionary point of view) or want control over the woman. Once she has his baby, he has a certain amount of control over her for the rest of his life (or until the kid is 18). It can also be like marking his territory. Watch yourself... This sounds very strange.

This is very suspicious. There are men who are turned on by the idea of getting a girl pregnant, most doctors are reluctant to give vasectomies to men who havent had at least one child and are under 35. How old is he? Any kids? If not then why did he get a vasectomy?
If I were you, next time he is joking about getting you pregnant, also joke and say oh don't worry, we will just get an abortion; then watch his reaction. I am also dating a guy who wants me pregnant yesterday and has asked me to take out my IUD. Actually getting quite sulky!!! Be careful.
