No worries. He just doesn't think it's important enough to warrant much more of an announcement. I say "I'll be right back" all the time. Going to the bathroom, checking out something at a store, grabbing something I want, etc. It's just a phrase to reassure someone you won't be gone for long.

reader, anonymous, writes (5 October 2010): Unless you have a reason not to trust him, respect his privacy. Asking such a question frequently can come across as possessive or even controlling. He isnt in nursery school and its prob not a big deal miss.
