A female India age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Hi my name is Preeti (24) dating a guy (28) for one and a half years. My boyfriend has a really close friend who's a girl and I just feel like I'm no one in his life.... I'm very insecure about him but I love him and he loves me too but I feel he's going to go for another girl and I'll be all alone.

What do I do? He talks to here every day and he even meets here when I'm not there and he talks about other girls.

A male reader, thebeardedguy India +, writes (20 September 2009):

Hi Preeti,

First of all nice to see an Indian here :) I'm Indian too! The issue you describe above is very common among couples.

I would advise you to-

1. As you say you are in this relationship for 1 1/2 years, I suppose you must be very close to him, talk to him about your feelings I m sure he'll understand. But take care, when you talk to him about this, you don't cross your limits, I mean don't create a issue out of this! Instead when your man is really happy, just tell him, how much you love him, you would want to spend your life with him (I m sure marriage must be on the radar), etc and then tell him about it in general, avoid taking her name, or you ca probably give a friends reference while explaining him.

2. Become that girls best friend! I think this will be better and easy for you. The other benefit is that you will be able to control things properly and you would probably come to know your man better.

Wish you all the luck!

May God bless you, guide you to the straight path and give you a blissful married life!
