 The fact that he admittted it was one thing. But the fact that he cheated on you was another thing. Anotehr BIG thing... LDR could work for some people but he's cheated you. You guys are separated. He might as well doing the same thing in future. I say, find another guy.

I take it this happened while you were together, so I 'll answer for that. It's a long distance relationship, and LDR's require a huge amount of commitment to make them work. If one person isn't committed, it won't work. He has cheated on you. The fact is, that proves he's not committed enough for this. You'd do better to move on.
