He keeps me apart from his family life, and wont say "I love you"

Question - (29 November 2009) 0 Answers - (Newest, )
A female United States age 41-50, *annday writes:

My boyfriend and I have been together for a year--but he has not yet said I love you nor has he ever invited me to any function or event involving his family (I have met his sisters through his mom because I work with her but have never been invited to bbq's, birthdays, holidays)from what I can tell both of his sisters adore me--so why wouldn't he believe the rest of his family wouldn't? Is this normal?? I've always been so well liked by so many that it just upsets me and makes me feel bad. If my family is in town I'll invite him but he'll say that he is shy and brushes it off. I'm not sure if something is wrong or if he is just waiting to do it in his own time...any good advice? I love him--and I believe he loves me I just also believe he's been jaded. Thanks!
